"The school is an inclusive and welcoming environment where pupils are well supported to strengthen their learning and well-being." Ofsted 2018
All children at Allen Edwards deserve the best start. Through the use of Pupil Premium, SEND funding and the PE and Sport premium we ensure that we provide the right opportunities to each and every child.
Children who are looked after or who have qualified for free school meals anytime in the last six years, each attract additional annual funding of £1,320. The objective of the grant is to support disadvantaged pupils and close the attainment gap between them and their peers

The SEND Code of Practice says schools must:
“…use their best endeavours to make sure that a child with SEN gets the support they need – this means doing everything they can to meet children and young people’s SEN”. (6.2)
At Allen Edwards we ensure that all our SEND learners receive the appropriate support to help them with their learning and progress.

Physical education plays a crucial role in the education of the whole child. It contributes directly to development of physical ability and health and fitness, and helps children learn to make informed choices and understand the value of leading a physically active lifestyle. Physical education is unique to the school curriculum as the only programme that provides students with opportunities to learn fundamental movement skills, develop fitness, gain an understanding about physical activity and promote social, cooperative and problem-solving abilities in children. Through physical education pupils learn about the benefits of being physically active as well as the skills and knowledge to incorporate safe, satisfying physical activity within their lifestyle.
